Due to the highly publicized FDA/DEA raid in Sept 2001 and ensuing case against JLF Poisonous Non-Consumables, we are going out of business. I have only kept the business open out of sentiment and pride and principle, because JLF has not made a profit since then. Apparently it is true that a federal investigation, let alone a highly publicized case that ended in guilty verdicts, is the kiss of death for any company. I guess all the previous customers become too afraid to continue to do business with such a company. I can't say that I blame them, but in this case it is particularly sad; because I was never even approached by any branch of the govt or the prosecution to cooperate by providing customer information. Since no real scheduled drugs were involved, and no materials were purchased illegally or from ill-legitimate suppliers, I had no real information to provide (and they had already seized all office records anyway). I suppose that was one of the more logical aspects of the case; there was no real reason for them to ask me for such cooperation. I could keep our doors open for another year until my period of probation is over if I felt there was a point. But JLF is not even able to afford advertising any more. At least I can say that I maintained a classified advertisement in High Times magazine throughout the whole ordeal. And when given an ultimatum by the prosecutor (shut down JLF or stay in jail), I refused. Maybe I can imagine that I am safe to boast about such things, even though I'm still on probation; because after all, I am closing JLF - what they wanted from the beginning. Sale begins immediately for all who qualify. To qualify, simply indicate where you read this. Please feel free to copy / reproduce / pass around / forward this announcement/notice to anywhere or anybody. Larger quantity discounts available on some items.
